Out of all of the places in Wem town centre. This seems the best overall. Extremely friendly owners and their staff. Food was freshly prepared and was very tasty. The price is also very reasonable.

Lovely little cafe. Great cake selection, simple but nice menu. Comfy seat in the window to watch the world go by! Friendly staff. Excellent prices (£6 for a bacon bap and a coffee). Cyclist friendly. I will be back.

Just a quick stop after our canal boat trip, but 5 very happy kids. The deluxe hot chocolate was high on the list but the rocky road bars were the favorite. Super friendly staff and quick service with our large group.

Great little cafe with really helpful and lovely staff. Breakfasts are great and cheap and the menu selection is plentiful. We were in over the weekend (13th September) for an afternoon tea! Plenty of choice, and the layout of the table was beautiful. There was four of us and so much food that we took some home. There was no rush to finish and nothing was a hassle for the staff.

Just opposite Wem church on the high street (because even the holy need their caffeine fix) Saturday mornings are sacred territory: coffee, comfort, and the sort of proper breakfast that makes you forget you promised yourself you'd start that diet on Monday. Enter The Dancing Bean - a brilliant addition to Wem that's been making the church across the street rather jealous of all the devoted worshippers it's been attracting. The menu reads like a proper good selection of comfort grub: sandwiches that actually fill you up, baguettes that don't require an engineering degree to get your teeth into, and jacket potatoes so satisfying they could probably sort out world peace (or at least your lunch dilemma). The specials board changes regularly, which keeps things interesting and gives you a decent excuse to pop back "for research purposes." The place has that lovely weekend buzz - a right mix of people settling in with their papers like they're planning to claim squatter's rights, and the grab-and-dash coffee crowd who've mastered the art of ordering whilst simultaneously checking their mobiles and wrangling small children. Whether you're team "sit and savour" or team "caffeine emergency," The Dancing Bean's got you sorted. The staff clearly understand that Saturday morning service requires the patience of saints and the efficiency of a Formula 1 pit crew - and they deliver on both fronts. Plus, the coffee actually tastes like proper tea rather than that brown dishwater masquerading as a beverage you get at some places. Bottom line: The Dancing Bean proves that good things come to those who lie in on weekends. Your Saturday morning routine just got a proper upgrade. PS: Fish finger sandwich on tiger bread with tartar sauce and a hot cup of tea to wash it down. Champion.
